The prestigious Owen Wright Memorial Trophy was presented at the Awards Dinner on 9th June 2018 to ANDREW BELLAMY.
The trophy is awarded to a person who has made a significant contribution to the New Zealand joinery industry.
Andrew has a long history of involvement within the joinery industry. He began his career with work experience around 1992, completing an apprenticeship in Upper Hutt and Dunedin.
Andrew progressed through the ranks of Wood Solutions, Dunedin, all the way to General Manager, where he is today. His leisure activities include jet skiing, tramping and a hobby farm.
Andrew has been President of the Otago/Southland association and been on the Master Joiners national Executive for many years, filling the role of National President 2013/2014. He is currently Chairman of the National Advisory Group.
Owen Wright, then President of Canterbury JMA, was tragically killed in the 22 February 2011 Canterbury earthquake. The Owen Wright Memorial Trophy signifies Owen’s much valued and wise contributions to the joinery industry.
