The client’s brief was to have a sleek modern kitchen that would be timeless in its design whilst using a mono chromatic colour scheme.
This is an architecturally designed home with an open plan kitchen, dining and living space; features accentuated by raked ceilings.
The clients wanted a form follows function approach whilst maintaining an elegant aesthetic.
The goal for this project was to have a kitchen that stood out while also being silently sophisticated.
Using only black finishes with a white marble look engineered stone splash back & bench tops in the primary kitchen area, the goal was achieved.
The aim for the scullery was to have a serviceable area for preparation and clean up work so when the clients are entertaining, the primary kitchen area stays tidy.
The kitchen is finished in Prime Laminate Black Velvet SoftMatt, which brings the elegant feel with its soft touch finish.
An eye catching feature in this kitchen is the SG Calacatta Gold engineered stone splash back that has been vein matched to the bench top by the skilled team at Shane Boyd Granite Bench Tops.
Another favourite feature is the Archant Aoraki 550-10 black eco granite sink, under mounted in the island top.
Negative detailing between the bench tops and base units have been used to highlight the 20mm tops along with the mitred up boxed ends on the kitchen island.
These box ends have been skilfully mitred up using the pre finished Prime Laminate Black Velvet Soft-Matt 17.5mm board.
The clients also wanted smart organisation, so we have used Blum ORGA-LINE inserts in the drawers along with Blum’s non-slip matting.
A hardy, baking friendly surface was wanted in the scullery therefore we chose to use a 20mm stainless steel bench top with a seamlessly welded in sink with drainer.
For the scullery open wall units we usedPrime Melamine Sea Fog Velvet to closely match the wall colour; helping to make the scullery feel more open and light.
