This Wellington theater’s custodians have been planning to reinstate their existing steel joinery façade to its original state for many years.
The cost of the project had held them back until a generous benefactor stepped in to help fund the approx 1 Million dollar project.
The brief was to replicate the original 1920’s design, great care had to be made to incorporate the steel frames which housed the beveled edge and leadlight glass panels into the new European Oak frames.
The new architraves and molding’s were all run on a spindle molder and the corner details all made by hand by a group of highly skilled tradesman and apprentices.
