2023 Best Compliant Timber Joinery

WINNER

WELL HUNG JOINERY

AWARD SPONSORED BY :

During 2022, we were approached to build all the timber doors and windows for this lovely new villa, as a new addition to their 5-star resort. The property is nestled in dense NZ bush, overlooking a beautiful lake.
H3.2 treated Pine was used for the frames, and colour matched Cedar for the doors and sashes. By keeping the timber grain visible through the dark Sikkons stain, we were able to showcase the beauty of the Cedar grain throughout this project. We used the “Thermawood” glazing system, which integrated well between the 44mm thick sashes, and the 58mm thick doors. All exterior beads were custom run in Cedar.2 coats of Sikkons were applied to the joinery before delivery to site. This allowed the owner to install the joinery, without the risk of water damage. The final coats were applied after install. We custom machined the jambs, mullions, sills for this project, as they needed to be profiled to suit the brick walls.
